I loved the flexibility that the online course offered - I could work it in around my schedule rather than having to stress about getting somewhere with a baby by a certain time.
After completing her online 6 week baby massage course, I feel so much more confident giving my baby a massage! Doing the course online in my own time in my own home was super convenient. Melissa shows you how to massage your baby (with the use of her own baby [and sometimes a doll]). The great thing about this is sometimes her baby wouldn't want a massage and Melissa tells us what to do in these situations and how to make sure a baby is comfortable before a massage. I think this made her course very relatable to the everyday mum. Thank you Melissa!
Melissa is a sensational teacher whose knowledge of pre and post-natal yoga is second to none, so I was excited to do this course... and it didn't disappoint! Melissa is such a skilled teacher and I find her approach gentle and engaging.
I don't think I would have had time to do a course outside my home, so this online option was perfect.
The thing about Melissa's teachings is that she gives you the skills and the confidence to practice solo, and I would highly recommend this course. It relaxes bub, is soothing for mum and is a terrific bonding experience.
When I first signed up for Melissa's baby massage online course, my baby was just a few weeks old and was suffering from reflux and colic. I thought anything to help my bubba at this point is worth trying! Although it took me more than 5 weeks to finish the course, (yes you can learn at your own pace! Being a FTM also meant I don't have much me time until I figure things out), and bubba was doing better by then, the knowledge I gained from the course was still very relevant and applicable for whenever he feels any tummy problems. Just knowing what to do and how to do it made me a more confident mom!
I recently completed Melissa's online baby massage course. My 5 month old daughter and I really enjoyed watching the clips and learning this new skill together. Evening massage is now a treasured part of our daily routine that helps us (all!) wind down, slow down, breath and connect. We love the simple routines and Melissa's hands on demonstrations with Banjo (and the very compliant Angel!).
Also - the format is perfect. As a new mum and baby, busy with our daily routine, we sometimes found it hard to get to appointments on time. It was great to be able to learn how to do baby massage from home when we could make the time. It took the stress out of it and meant we could really relax into the process. The guides that come with the course (with pictures!) were really handy for the first few weeks while we were trying to remember all the techniques.

MY BABY MASSAGE STORY
Mum, Certified Infant Massage Instructor and Birthlight Baby Yoga Teacher.
I’ve taught baby massage and yoga to hundreds of parents face to face for the last decade and experienced its incredible benefits with my son, Banjo. I attribute his happy disposition and temperament to the loving touch he’s experienced from birth.
My husband and I had a routine where he would massage Banjo before I had a bath with him each night before bed. Banjo’s face would light up as my husband arrived home from work in anticipation of that special one-on-one time with his daddy. I would listen from afar to the giggles, cooing and sighing. I couldn’t think of a more beautiful and relaxing way for Banjo to prepare for sleep.
My favourite time of day was doing yoga with Banjo. My yoga poses would be interspersed with feeds, cuddles, dry massage and baby yoga moves. It was a special time that I will forever hold close to my heart.
My mission is for all new parents to learn baby massage and yoga so they too can experience the benefits of loving touch. A happy baby makes a happy family.
