Prenatal yoga will help you prepare physically and mentally for labour, birth and motherhood using yoga poses, breathing, meditation and relaxation and include Hypnobirthing tools, Active Birth positions and breathing techniques.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The Prenatal Yoga sequences are based on my yoga practice throughout my pregnancy plus 17 years of teaching prenatal yoga and my experience as a Doula and Hypnobirthing Australia practitioner. Classes are dynamic yet relaxing and safe for all trimesters and experience including beginners. After each class, we’ll explore a different theme that’ll allow you to connect with yourself, your baby and other like- minded women whilst sipping on hot tea and homemade treats.

I’ve been working with pregnant women and new mothers for the past 17 years as a Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga and Pilates Instructor and more recently as a Hypnobirthing Australia Practitioner and Birth and Postpartum Doula.
I’ve helped thousands of women prepare their bodies for labour and birth and to regain their “pre- baby body” but it wasn’t until I gave birth to my son that I realised how important a positive mindset is during pregnancy, birth and postpartum.
Whilst I attribute education, tools, support and preparation to my beautiful drug- free water birth, it was my positive mindset that helped me to stay calm and trust the process.
I'd introduced breathing techniques, active birth positions, meditation and deep relaxation in my prenatal yoga classes prior to my son’s birth but I wanted to learn how to teach women to use self- hypnosis and positive mindset to release their fears around birth so became a Hypnobirthing Australia® practitioner.
I strongly believe that when we have an empowering birth experience, this sets us up for empowered and positive parenting.

Prenatal yoga classes does not scrape the surface of describing the support, care and guidance you are given by doing the mamatoto retreat courses. The benefits you reap from having Melissa double as yoga instructor and trained doula are astounding. Melissa is a sponge and retains any information you let her know and will always pass on a book she thinks you might like, or check in with you to see if you have healed from your aches/pains. Who’s this class for?
Pregnant women in all trimesters, whether you’re a first time mama or a seasoned professional who wants to feel relaxed, connected and empowered during pregnancy, birth and motherhood.
When can I start classes?
If you’ve been doing yoga for a while, you can continue to do so when you fall pregnant making adjustments for your changing body. If you’re new to yoga, wait until you’ve had your 13 week scan and got the all clear from your GP or midwife to exercise.
What if I’m a Beginner?
Classes are for all levels- including complete beginners. I’ll encourage you throughout the class to listen to your body and if a pose doesn’t feel comfortable, I’ll suggest ways you can modify it so it feels good and gives you the most benefits.
What do I need to bring?
Please bring your own mat, cushion and pillow or yoga bolster.
What do I wear?
Clothes that are stretchy, comfy and make you feel good. Layering is best in case you get hot or cold. No shoes or socks are necessary.

Can I get a refund or if I miss a class?
Unfortunately, I’m unable to refund you for any missed classes or transfer to another week so unless you’re unwell or away, do your best to come along. As a make up class, you can access to the recordings of my Prenatal Yoga and Pilates classes in our private facebook group.
How do I cancel my membership?
Cancel anytime. You can manage your own membership using the link provided to you in the email you receive before each direct debit. You can cancel your membership before the payment is due and you won’t be charged. From here you can also view all of your past payments, and update the credit card on file for your next payment.
